Navy is the Colour for AW16

It’s always a nice change to see darker hues become more prominent during winter than the brighter colours of summer. Navy has always been a trans-seasonal colour, but it really plays out during the colder months when we like to rug up in darker colours. If you’re looking to add pieces to your wardrobe for a winter update, Navy is the colour for AW16.

Navy can be paired with most shades of red, with wine being the trending hue this season. It also contrasts well with white, orange, beige, tan, mustard, denim, coral, and pale pink.

If you wear a summer frock or blouse, why not add a navy blazer? Chunky knits teamed with distressed jeans and tan boots is a classy winter outfit that will keep you warm and on trend.

If the block colour of navy doesn’t tickle your fancy, choose it in a pattern like polka dots or nautical stripes. The scarf from Bohemian Traders is a great way to introduce navy to your wardrobe, and it can be teamed in a pattern clash with black and white stripes.

Navy is a classic neutral you will get years out of wearing. At the moment it’s having it heyday so invest in modern pieces that can be worn each season.
