As soon as the weather starts cooling down, I start craving delicious winter desserts. There’s just something so delicious about a piping hot dessert smothered with custard, cream, or my fave… ice-cream! Let’s take a look at 10 winter warmer desserts – these are impossible to resist on a cold, wintery night.

1. Sticky Date Pudding

The only thing that can make a sticky date pudding even better is one that is drizzled with the most deliciously creamy butterscotch sauce. Add a scoop or two of ice-cream for the perfect finish.

2. Chocolate Self-Saucing Pudding

For chocoholics, there is no beating a chocolate self saucing pudding. Rich, chocolatey and oh-so-amazing. This is one classic dessert that’s always a winner!

3. Apple Crumble

No-one can resist a beautiful big bowl of Apple Crumble. Keep it plain and simple or go fancy with a drizzle of salted caramel sauce. Either way – this is one dessert that’s sure to leave a smile on your face!

4. Apricot Pie

This classic dessert is just like your mum or grandma used to make! Use ready made pastry and fresh or tinned apricots for a quick and easy dessert. Oooh and this is one dessert that just screams for a little drizzle of cream.

5. Pecan Pie

This is by far my favourite winter dessert! There is nothing in the world that can compare to the sweet caramel/pecan combination… especially when it also involves a good helping of pastry. Tip: if you’re in Australia, you may want to substitute the corn syrup for maple syrup.

6. Lemon Meringue Pie

A crispy pastry base, creamy lemon filling and fluffy meringue top make this one amazingly delicious winter warmer dessert. Serve straight from the oven for a dessert that will wow your guests.

7. Chocolate Peanut Butter Torte

We all know that one of the most popular flavour combinations is peanut butter and chocolate – and there really is no denying how good it is. This is one over-the-top dessert that will leave you drooling!
