If you are a lover of classic Australian artistry with your interiors then you’ll be delighted to hear about a new creative collaboration. ARIA award-winning artist Bertie Blackman and her brother Felix, a graduate architect and award-winning graphic designer, are accomplished siblings and the children of celebrated Australian artist, Charles Blackman.
However, it’s not simply their collaboration that is noteworthy. Celebrated artists, David Bromley and Yuge Bromley, who are creative guardians of the Blackman Studio, have formed a unique partnership with Bertie and Felix.
Through exhibitions in Windsor (Melbourne) and Daylesford (Victoria) the inaugural collaboration of Blackman and Bromley will be unveiled. A series of artistic interpretations of influential iconic art by Charles Blackman will form part of the exhibitions.
Think bronze sculptures, limited edition prints, Blackman studio collages, embroidery, quilts, ceramics and cards.
It is with immense respect and humility for Charles’ art that David and Yuge offer their creative powers and artistic interpretation and, together with Bertie and Felix, continue to celebrate Charles Blackman. David and Yuge’s unrivaled experience within the artistic landscape, business and creative environments has been pivotal in setting up the foundations of the Blackman Studio.
Passion, commitment and integrity have fueled the artists’ desire to pay homage to Charles Blackman whose acclaimed career spanned 70 years. This collaboration will bring to life Blackman’s iconic catalogue of art.
All art lovers, old and new, are invited to experience this unique Blackman and Bromley exhibition that celebrates Blackman’s beloved ‘Schoolgirl’ and ‘Alice in Wonderland’ themes as well as exploring and unraveling deeper and more obscure works.
The two Blackman and Bromley exhibitions will run from Saturday May 9th to Tuesday June 9th at Bromley & Co, 93-95 Chapel Street, Windsor, VICTORIA and Bromley & Co, 45a Vincent Street, Daylesford, VICTORIA.
